Thomas Richard RandallAge 65 of Elmira, NY, went to start his new life with the Lord on Friday May 4, 2012 .He is survived by his daughter, Ann Randall (Tony), granddaughter, Libera; former wife, Lee Randall; aunt Edith Miller, uncle Sam Karam, aunt Peg Karam; brother-in-law, Ben Luisi; sister-in-law, Fil Luisi several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins; also close friend and neighbor for over 60 years , Bruce DeDominick. Predeceased by his parents, Marshall and Mable Karam Randall; grandparents George and Anna Karam, Burr and Phoebe Randall; uncles, Carl (Bonnie) Karam, Kadeen Karam, Albert (Sally) Karam, and Sherril Miller; also aunt Doris Karam. Tommy enlisted in the United States Army, served inthe Vietnam War, with a tour of duty with the First Cavalry Division as a helicopter Door Gunner, and took part in 57 combat missions, receiving The Air Medal and many other medals for his military service, including two Bronze Stars.He received a Presidential Citation for his volunteer work in “Operation Dust Off”.He founded and was the President of The Flying Horseman Chapter of Eastern New York, under the First Cavalry Division, the goal of the chapter is to aid and assist Veteran Troopers. Tommy graduated from Elmira College with a Masters Degree, He was a Police Officer with the Elmira Police Department for several years. Graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at Glynco, GA, and from the Federal Police Officers Academy at North Little Rock, AR. He was a law enforcement officer with the US Department Of Justice –I.N.S. in New Jersey,He owned and operatedRandall’s Saloon, in Elmira, NY. wrote several books and was known for how he loved his sports cars. Also member of the American Legion, the Vietnam Veterans Organization and member of The PBA.The family will receive friends at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Wednesday May 9, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Funeral Service there Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM . Father William Lutz, will officiate. Graveside service with full military honors will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012at 1:00PM in Woodlawn National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name, to the Flying Horseman Chapter, C/O Charles Sullivan, Harry B. Bentley Post #443 of the American Legion, 316 Lake St., Elmira, NY 14901
