Thomas E. Richards

Thomas E. Richards Age 68, was born May 1, 1947 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Thomas Irving and Dorothy Ann (Warner) Richards. Tom went home to be with the Lord, while holding the hand of his beloved Myrle, on Monday, 22, 2016 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Myrle (Conrad) Richards; son, Gary Kevin Richards; grandson, Dameon; brother, David Richards, sister, Janet Frost (Tom); along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many other relatives and a host of friends. His second love was a pug named "Buddy". Tom was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War. He retired from IBM in Endicott, NY as an engineer after 25 years of dedicated service, then went on to retire with 9 years from Winchester Optical in Elmira. Tom was a diehard NASCAR fan with Kyle Busch being his favorite driver. He was also a big time Buffalo Bills fan. Tom was a "laker", boating and living on Seneca Lake. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1 :00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services honoring Tom's life will follow the visitation at 7 pm .. His cousin Johnny will officiate. Interment will take place at the Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY.
