Valerie Gillin Gay

85, died on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Russell H. Gay; sons, Arthur (Allisson) of Tyler, TX, Alan (Susan) of Elmira, NY, and Andrew (Sharon) of Arvada, CO; step-son, Robert (deceased) (Barb) of Sodus, NY; Kimberly (Robert Nakada) Gay, Kevin (Emily) Stull, Jamie (Levi) Medeiros, Andrea (Tyler) Moore; great-grandsons, Robert, Matthew Nakada and Shane Medeiros and Axel Moore; sister, Connie (Frank Smith) of Cincinnati, OH and brother, Denny (Janet) Gillin of Binghamton, NY; many nieces and nephews and their families; also survived by a special cousin, Margaret Taylor. Valerie was a lifelong active member of the Penna Ave. United Methodist Church. She was employed by Perry and Swartwood Insurance Agency for 24 years and loved volunteering at the Steele Memorial Library after retirement. The family of Valerie would like to express their gratitude to all the nurses, doctors and therapist at both local hospitals who took very good care of her. There will be no calling hours.
