Verna L. Reynolds

86, passed away April 14, 2015 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She is survived by daughters, Cathy (Jack) Labar of Erin, NY and Vicki (John) Smith of Elmira Heights; stepsons, Alton (Essie) Reynolds of Georgia, Robert (Kathleen) Reynolds of Colorado, and William (Martha) Reynolds of Elmira. Verna was predeceased in death by her husband, Paul A. Reynolds; mother, Minnie Odell; and daughter, Jolie Dunkle.Verna has 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and her BFF Margret Carney of Elmira, "because she knew too much." She worked for many years at Patty Cake Bakery and at Great American and Grand Union for over 30 years. She adored her family and loved a good party, good friends and a good, cold whiskey sour, or two. From the bottom of our broken hearts we want to thank Dr. Mauri and Dr. Corbalon for their excellent care and compassion given to Mom. And to the third floor staff for her excellent care and to all the departments who dealt with Mom, from housekeeping down to a free piece of pie, you know who you are.Calling hours will be at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, April 19 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral and committal services will be held there on Monday, April 20 at 11:00AM. Verna will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.Also a message to our sister in Heaven: Jolie, you will have to take it from here. TAKE CARE OF MOM.
