Vernon "Vern" L. Mcwhorter

McWhorter, Vernon L.“Vern” age 74 a long time resident of Daggett, PA passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph’s Hospital , Monday February 20th, 2012. Vern was born in Elmira, NY the son of the late Sterling and Elsie Leonard McWhorter of Mosherville, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years as of Valentine’s Day Elnora Eighmey McWhorter of Daggett; Sons and daughter in law: Calvin McWhorter of Millerton, Kevin (Sharon) McWhorter of Millerton, Daughters and Sons in law: Lacinda (Keith)Snyder of New Jersey and Lanett (Jeff) Wheeler of Millerton; Son and Daughter in law: Terril (Yelena) McWhorter of GA, 22 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; Sister Marilyn (Frank) Grace of Chicago. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Friday, 24th, 2012 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM and again Saturday 2:00PM to 3:00PM with funeral and committal services held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 3:00PM. The Reverend Jennifer Wolf will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed the Big Elm Cemetery Route # 549 Millerton, PA 16936 or to the Daggett Cemetery c/o Richard Smith Switchback Road Millerton, PA 16936. Vern was a lifelong farmer whom owned and operated his own Dairy Farm for many years in the Daggett area. He was a dedicated family man whom shared his strong work ethic with his children and the people around him.
