Viola B Galpin

Was born November 15, 1921 in Port Dickinson, NY the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel (Morris) Jones passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at St. Josephs Hospital at the age of 85. Viola married William E. Galpin and celebrated 64 wonderful years of life and love together prior to his death March 6, 2004. Her brothers, Benjamin and Wesley Jones; sisters, Leona Zuris, Louise Elwonger and Ruth Jones; granddaughter, Kerri Lynn Galpin also predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children, Bill (Joan), Larry (Sue), Mike (Michelle), Tom (Char), Neil (Debbie), Mary (Jim) Haygood, Lucy (Dexter) Giroux, Fran, Pete, Marty (Nicole); brothers, Harold (Pat) Jones, Roy Jones; sister, Shirley Wilkins; along with 33 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler and golfer. She enjoyed reading and the challenge of crossword puzzles. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:00 AM in St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery. The Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate.
