ERIKSON, Virginia E. Loving wife, mother & grandmotherWas born November 20, 1918 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Gustav and Frederica (Hodgkins) Leupelt passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken, SC at the age of 89. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, J. Harold Erikson Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Mary Jo Erikson; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela J. and Richard N. Light; much-loved grandchildren, Christopher and Heather Erikson and Thomas and Kristen Light. Virginia was a resident of Smoke Rise, Kinnelon, NJ for 28 years. After her husbands retirement moved to Imperial Golf Club Estates Naples, FL, where they resided for 20 years before moving to Merrill Gardens in Naples, FL for the last three years. She was very active in the communities in which she lived, serving on many boards. She enjoyed singing and was an active member in the choir of the Community Church of Smoke Rise, NJ for many years and most recently the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, FL where she also enjoyed being an active member of the choir. Family and friends are invited to meet at the main entrance to the Woodlawn Cemetery 1200 Walnut Street Elmira, NY at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 4, 2008. Once everyone has arrived a processional to the gravesite will follow, where the Reverend Gary Chorpenning will officiate the graveside ceremony for Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church 1225 Piper Blvd. Naples, FL 34110-1252 {Phone: 239-597-1720}. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904.
