Virginia G Erle

ERLE, Virginia Erle Of Elmira, NYWas born February 6, 1940 in Metuchen, NJ the daughter of the late Luther Lewis and Virginia Grace (Markano) Erle. Virginia of Oneida Road passed peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the age of 68 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility. On December 16, 1967, Virginia married Thomas James Erle at St. Peter & Pauls Church in Elmira, NY. The Reverend David N. Mattie officiated at the Wedding Ceremony. Prior to his passing on April 8, 2006, they celebrated 39 years of life and love together. Virginia is survived by her brothers, Lewis L. (Shirley) Erle of Fallbrook, CA; Robert R. Erle (Dorothy deceased) of Buena Vista, CO; James R. (Paula) Erle of Calpine, CA; sister, Mildred M. Erle of New York City, NY; sister-in-law, Loretta {Erle} (Harold) Gunderman of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and special friends, Bob and Donna McConnell, David, Debbie and Autumn Rose Lester, Margie and Tom Rodgers, Julie Lynch, Tina Simons and Carolyn Martin. Virginia served 4 years in the United States Marine Corp. She was the past president of the Twin Tier Genealogical society and retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at St. Peter & Pauls Church 161 High Street Elmira, NY at 10:00 AM. Reverend Richard Farrell will celebrate the Mass honoring Virginias life and honoring her memory. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Woodlawn National Cemetery 1825 Davis Street Elmira, NY where Military Honors will be accorded Virginia Erle. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
