Virginia L. Hicks

Age 87, of Elmira, NY passed away January 4, 2007 at St. Josephs Hospital with her family at her side. She was born in Greensboro, NC on June 6, 1919 to the late Claudius M. & Mamie (Bouldin) Cecil.She was also predeceased by her brothers, William, Roy & James Cecil.Her husband James R. Hicks, predeceased her on April 8, 1991.Virginia is survived by her children, Colleen who was her caregiver for the past 10 years, her sons, James R. (Linda) Hicks of Lowman, NY and Patrick (Ellen) Hicks of Elmira; grandson, Jonathan (Korey) Hicks of TX; granddaughter, Christina (Ken) Pulleyn of Horseheads, NY; great grandson, Jackson Jonathan Hicks of TX; great granddaughters, Olivia L. Hicks of TX, Kelsey, April & Caitlyn Pulleyn of Horseheads; her brother, C.M. Cecil Jack (Margaret) of NC; sister, Betty Ray (Aiden) of CA.She was a gift from God, a great wife, mother, sister and friend and we return the gift back to you.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.Funeral will be at Olthofs on Monday at 11:00 AM with Reverend Anne Mowery officiating.Interment in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.Memorial donations may be made to North Chemung Methodist Church, 677 Breesport-N.
