W. Jean Baker

May 15, 1927 — April 20, 2003

Age 75 of Thurber Rd., Corning, NY, unexpectedly passed away into peace on Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa.Jean was born May 15th, 1927, the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Florence Hall Starkweather in Elmira, NY.She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Carl Stadelmaier. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; together they shared 25 wonderful years; son and daughter in law, Ronald and Pat Stadelmaier of Pine City, NY; grandsons,Michael and Douglas of Pine City, NY; Steven and his girl friend, Cody Robinson of Ft. Collins, CO; step-daughter, Virginia (Roger) Dickerman of Caton, NY; step-grandsons, Alan and Terry Dickerman of Caton, NY; brothers, Paul (Leda) Starkweather of Wellsboro, PA, Richard Starkweather and Walter (Debbie) Starkweather, both of Stony Fork, PA; sisters, Frances Johnson and Martha (Edwin) Spencer, both of Wellsboro, PA; sisters-in-law, Mary Grinnell of Elmira and Esther (Charles) Wilkins of Sullivanville, NY; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Anna Wells.Jean and Ken loved to square dance, bowl, and enjoyed being outdoors walking and admiring nature.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral and committal services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 8:00 PM. The Reverend Howard Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Jean?s name maybe made to your charity of choice.
