Age 89 of Elmira, NY, passed away Friday, August 5, 2005 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, where he received excellent care for several years. He was born in Potter County, Pennsylvania on August 4, 1916.He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Alice and Fritz Clark; Maxine and Thomas Manning; Alice Manning; many beloved grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and his sister in-law, Margaret Gardner. Walt was predeceased by his wife, Helene Gardner Marble in 1988 and sister, Beatrice Stevens earlier this year. He was a Boatswain?s Mate First Class in the United States Navy during World War II. Walt retired from Albee Truck Inc. after 31 years of service and was a former member of the American Legion.
