Age 81, of Horseheads, NY, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY, after and extended illness. Wally was born February 27, 1922 in Hammond, Indiana and spent most of his life in the Detroit, Michigan area where he was a salesman for the Frito-Lay and Farm Crest Companies, and a 45 year member of the Teamster?s Union. He and his wife Frances (Miedlar) moved to Chemung County in 2000. His parents, John C. and Wanda (Podgorski) Rogozinski predeceased Wally. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances; his daughter, Sandra (Jon) Bauer of Pine City, NY; his son, Daniel Rogozinski of Oak Park, Michigan; his beloved grandchildren, Kathryn ?Kit? Bauer and Bret Bauer of Pine City, NY; sisters-in-law, Theresa Gawlick of Allen Park, Michigan; Jane Kreft of Dearborn, Michigan; Ann Miedlar of Redford, Michigan; along with many nieces and nephews. Wally was an avid card player throughout his life and enjoyed polka and swing music and mushroom picking. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post # 10, Hamtramck, Michigan and The Holy Name Society. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 9:30 AM in St. Mary Our Mother Church 816 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY 14845 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Christopher Linsler will Celebrate the Mass. On Monday, December 29, 2003, the Detroit-area family and friends are invited to call at the Thomas Jarzembowski Funeral Home, 18957 W. Warren Avenue Detroit, Michigan from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A Prayer Service will follow the calling hours, with the interment in St. Hedwig?s Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Mary Our Mother Church or to the Monsignor Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 7080 Garling Dearborn Heights, MI 48127.
