William C. â??Bill�? Kopetchny

Age 83, of Moreland Place, Elmira passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital. He was born February 3, 1921 in Swoyersville, PA, the son of the late John and Anna (Lucina) Kopetchny. William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ida M. (Deater) Kopetchny; daughter, Yolanda Kopetchny of Newfield, NY; son, William C. Kopetchny Jr. of Montery, MA; sister, Helen Bednar of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Francis William Karl, Michael Karl, Gina (Jesus) Saenz, Lorraine Zepp, Bobbi Jo Karl, Jonathan W. Kopetchny, Joseph Charles (Misty) Kopetchny, Kathryn Kopetchny and Isaac Kopetchny; along with 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His daughter, Linda Karl, predeceased him in 2000. William was a faithful communicant of St. Mary?s Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country from 1942 to 1946, during WW II. He retired from Chemung Heating and Building Company after several years of dedicated service. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral Services honoring William?s life will be held there on Thursday, February 3 at 10:30 AM with Deacon George Welch celebrating the service. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Kopetchny full Military Honors.
