William H. Hugg

Age 63 of Elmira, NY, passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at St. Joseph?s Hospital.He was born February 7, 1943 in Elmira to the late Lloyd and Florence Draht Hugg.Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Charlotte, with whom he recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary; daughters, Melanie (Nick) Van Ness; Debra Hugg; Karen (Lee) Johnson; Shari (Joseph) Mattison; grandchildren, Jared, Alex, Jessika, Marissa, Mitch, Joseph, Tiffany, Megan, Emily, and Elijah, all of whom he adored; brothers, Paul (Robin) Hugg; Dean Hugg; many special friends and neighbors; and his feline companions, ?Lucky? and ?Garfield.? His parents and brother, Richard, predeceased Bill.He retired from the Chemung County Highway Dept. in 1999, and enjoyed yard work and attending activities with his grandchildren.He enjoyed his weekly get-togethers with his brother, Paul, and dearest friends, Wayne and Marian Hungerford, Douglas Barchet, and Beverly Sylvester.It was Bill?s wish that his services remain private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill?s name may be made to the American Heart Assoc., NYS Affiliate, Attention:Heart Gifts, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY13220-3049 or to the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, 2435 Route 352, Elmira, NY14903.
