William Mack Koen Age 87, was born March 3, 1930 in Wilmington, NC the son of the late Martin and Mamie (Odom) Koen, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center with his family at his side. His brother Bobby Koen, sister Virginia Canfield and great grandson, Calvin preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Odessa (Parker) Koen; beloved sons and daughter-in-laws, Steven and Kathy Koen of Elmira; Bill and Jean Koen of Elmira; adored grandchildren, Lisa (Josh) Luedeman, Jennifer (Josh) Hourihan, Kerri (Trevor) Henry, Joseph Bailey (Kyley), Amie Koen (Jeremy German), Jon (Lauren) Koen, and Andrew Savino (Kaylee Churchman); along with 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Lee Rogers of Florida; Johnny Koen of Wilmington, NC; Jesse Koen of Florida; Shirley (Darrell) Anglehart of Florida; along with several nieces and nephews. William was a faithful member of the Elmira Wesleyan Church. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He retired from the Elmira City School District after 13 years of dedicated service. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral Services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 1 pm. His pastor and friend Reverend Larry Burke will officiate. Interment will follow in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery where the Chemung County Veteran's Honor Guardwill accord Mr. Koen with Military Honors.
