William Larue Letts, Sr., 88, of Ocala, FL passed away November 27, 2013. He was the son of Harold Clark and Kittie Maud (Watkins) Letts. He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Edwin) Watts of Elmira, NY and son, William (Roberta) Letts, Jr. of Painted Post, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; brothers, Harold, Jr. and Lawrence; and sisters, Florence, Doris, Marion, Janice, Betty and Shirley. William was born in Troy, PA and was schooled in New York, and graduated from Painted Post High School. After high school, he entered the US Navy. Bill was a member of Under Water Demolition Team 19 and participated in the invasion of Okinawa. He was a member of VFW Post #524 in Corning, NY and the American Legion Post #1612 in Big Flats, NY. He will be buried in the Veterans National Cemetery in Bath, NY with full military honors, at the convenience of his family. Arrangements entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
