William Paul Coon

Coon, William Paul age 70 of Winter Haven, FL and formerly of Pine City, NY, passed away at home February 21st, 2013; surrounded by the love of his cousins Daryl and Bill Watkins of Winter Haven. He was born in Elmira, NY July 30th, 1942 the son of the late William C. and Maryalice (Kichman) Coon. He is survived by his sister, Gail McDaniel, Homestead, FL; son, William Joel (Jennifer) Coon of Elmira; daughter Rebecca Susan (Joe) Holtby, Jr. of Clifton Springs, NY; 7 grandchildren, Kristina Marie Bement, William Thomas Coon, Sarah Louise Coon, Matthew Paul Coon, Payton Joseph Holtby, Cora Rose Holtby, Hunter Hamlin Holtby; and one great grandchild, Annabelle Lynn Decker.He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was a member of the Southside High School Class of 1960. He retired as a HVAC technician and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #112. In the past, he worked locally in the HVAC field for Collins and Walton. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Paul’s life will be held there at the conclusion of the calling hours at 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the NRA.
