Age 62, was born January 1, 1949 in Elmira, NY the son of the late William Dan and Louise Elizabeth (Gillis) Middaugh, passed away after fighting a courageous battle, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA with his beloved family at his side. His twin brother, Dan Alden Middaugh predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Deanna (Claxton) Middaugh; daughter, Jennifer Middaugh of Ithaca, NY; son, Dan Middaugh of Bath, NY; brothers and sister-in-laws, William F. and Jane Middaugh; Brian and Jackie Middaugh; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Lauren Pautz; sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Glen) Rolls; along with many loving nieces, nephews and host of good friends. He was a fine athlete, who excelled in football, baseball, wrestling and later golf. He was a member of the Southside Sports Hall of Fame and was recently inducted into the Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame. Dennis retired as a Corrections Officer at the Elmira Correctional Facility where he worked for 33 years and was the Union President of the AFSCME Council # 8. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will be held there on Friday, January 14 at 11:00 AM. His pastor and friend, Reverend Michael Weeden will celebrate his services. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
