Was born November 14, 1979 in Elmira, the beloved son of Dale Edward and Cindy D. (Hart) Davis, began his new journey with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from his home with his devoted family by his side. His maternal grandfather, Richard D. Hart; paternal grandparents, Dale D. and Dorothy V. Davis; aunt, Marilyn Ketter preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving parents, Dale and Cindy of Elmira; brother and sister-in-law, Gregory A. and Hope L. Davis with their children, (Geoffrey's special angels) Amya, Olivia and Landon all of Elmira; canine companion, "Baxter"; maternal grandmother, Betty (Marshall) Hart; maternal aunts and uncle, Connie (Robert) Travis, Cathy (George) Powell, Richard (Helen) Hart and Roxanne (Gary) Krupkin; paternal aunt and uncle, Maureen (Pat) Beschler and Daryl (Tonya) Davis; also survived by special cousin and caregivers, Bobbi (Allen) Roote and Kaitlyn Roote; along with several other cousins and many friends. Geoffrey graduated from Southside High School in 1998, graduated from basic training at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, tech school graduate from Fort Jackson in South Carolina and finally a paratrooper-training graduate from Fort Benning in Georgia. In addition to being a Veteran of the US Army and a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, Geoffrey also liked to tandem jump. He became very active with bull riding and was good at it as well. He loved riding his 4-wheeler, hunting and above all else loved children and animals. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 3 PM. The Reverend Jeffrey Tunnicliff will celebrate Geoffrey's life. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery where the Chemung County Veteran's Honor Squad will accord Geoffrey Military Honors. The family will provide their own flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the following: SPCA, Southern Tier Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
