Gertrude G. Woodruff

Age 89, of Elmira, died peacefully at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Wednesday, July 23rd after a long illness. She was born to the late Felix "Phil" and Yadiviga "Ida" (Boroch) Dzikowski in Morris Run, PA. Trudy was a 1943 graduate of Morris Run High School and lived in the Elmira area most of her life. She was an office manager at the Elmira Greeting Card Company for 24 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Moose, Elks and Eagles Clubs in the Elmira area for many years. Trudy was predeceased by her first husband, Henry W. Gilbert in 1966, her second husband, Kenneth L. Woodruff in 2011, her brother, Anthony G. Dzikowski in 1980, her brother-in-laws, Perry Turner in 1961 and Raymond Gruzlewski in 1978. Surviving are her sisters, Veronica Turner of Elmira; Bernice Gruzlewski of Wellsboro; her brother, Charles "Chas" (Francis) Gekoski of Elmira; her sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Dzikowski of Lewisburg; her very special nephew, Chuck Turner of Elmira; her husband Kenneth's four children, Catherine Mocyk of Baldwinsville; John (Darbie) Woodruff of Tampa, FL; James Woodruff of Atlanta, GA; Jay (Wendy) Woodruff of Baldwinsville; along with 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces nephews and her loving care giver, Dawn Blair of Elmira. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 1 pm. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
