GILES TOLBERT Town of Southport ResidentAge 75, of Pine City, NY passed on Monday September 15, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sharon Tolbert; mother of 101 years Josephine Tolbert; children, Richard (Kathy) Tolbert, Marilyn (Charlie) Squires, Dawn (Edward) Perry, JoLee (Kevin Sid) Lee; grandchildren Melissa Perry, Amanda (Scott) Henning, Jeffrey Shuster; great grandson, Matthew Perry; brothers, Vernon Tolbert, Irving (Rose) Tolbert, Frank (Shirley) Tolbert and Melvin (Diana) Tolbert; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and with many close and dear friends. Predeceased by his father Jesse Tolbert, brother, Alton (Tink) Tolbert, sister, Marilyn Tolbert, in-laws, Gordon and Prudence Ham. Giles was a member of the American Legion Bentley Post # 443 Elmira, a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Thatcher Glass Inc., a Poultry Farm Manager for many years, and was a Machinist at Trayer Products, LRC. After retiring, Giles enjoyed gardening and drinking coffee with his friends. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service honoring his life will be held there Thursday at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Horace Stoddard will celebrate Giless service. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Tolbert military honors.
