November 17th, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.Gretchen was born in Elmira on the 27th day of July in 1923 Hunt, Gretchen L. age 90, a lifelong member of the Pine City community, passed away Sunday,, the daughter of the late James and Alice (Easton) Frampton.Surviving is her husband of 69 years Wallace R. Hunt of Pine City, her loving children; Kay “Buckey” (Alan) Goldstein of Berlin, NY, Donna “Reggie” (James) Sayles of Horseheads, NY, Gail “Stormy” (Craig) Bailey of Lima, NY, James “Sam” (Shirley) Hunt of Sarasota, FL, Danny “Boone” (Darlene) Hunt of Geneseo, NY, Stephen “Jiggs” (Karen) Hunt of Matthews, NC; 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with sisters-in-law; Winnie Frampton of Pine City, Lorraine Hunt of PA and brother-in-law; Dan Mitchell of Port Orchard, WA.In addition to her parents, Gretchen was predeceased by her great grandson Parker William Sayles and all four of her siblings. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY, on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Gretchen’s life will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, November 22nd, 2013 at the Webb Mills United Methodist Church, 1623 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY. Graveside services will follow in the Webb Mills Cemetery. Reverend Betty Bement will officiate. Gretchen was best known as a very caring and sweet lady, loving wife, and mother, who loved to knit.She was a member of the Webb Mills United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Webb Mills Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Nile. She was proud to sew and knit different items to benefit the children at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center; The victims at the Center for Domestic Abuse, and the veterans of the local Veteran’s Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, those wishing please make memorial donations in Gretchen L. Hunt’s name to the Memorial Fund, of the Webb Mills Methodist Church, 1623 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY 14871.
