Joann Ann GirardiOf Elmira, NYWas born August 12, 1937 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Paul Francis and Margaret (Fernan) Driscoll passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA at the age of 77. Her loving husband of 24 years, Lucian T. Girardi Jr.; sister, Sharon Andrus; granddaughter, Christina Atwell also preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved longtime friend and companion, Paul "Mitzi" McKlevis; loving children: Lucinda Girardi (John Whorley), Luann (Bill) Struble, Lucian "TJ" (Mary Ann) Girardi III, Lucious "Jamie" (Donna) Girardi, Lawrence "Larry" Girardi, Leonard "Lenny" (Charlene) Girardi and Lorin Girardi (Michelle Morgan); 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Francine Crowley; brother, Terry (Sue) Driscoll; along with several nieces and nephews. Joann was a Bus Driver for the Elmira City School District for many years then drove for the Chemung County Transit System for 20 years. She was a communicant at the Blessed Sacrament Parishes and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Tuesday Weight Watchers group. Joann loved her family tremendously, enjoyed the family get togethers' and adored all of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by QVC and her UPS drivers. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held there on Saturday, January 10th at 12:15 PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Richard Farrell will Celebrate the Mass. Interment will take place in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery on Monday, January 12th at 2:00 PM.
