Neil H. Butts

Butts, Neil H. age 68 of Millport, NY. Passed away Sunday, November 1st, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Neil was born in Elmira, December 21, 1946; the son of the late Harold and Alice (Smith) Butts. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of almost 50 years, Joyce (Fanton) Butts; children, Neil L. Butts of Elmira, Terry D. Butts of Liverpool, NY; 5 grandchildren, Robin Marie, Amanda Marie, Tonya (Steve) Vallimont, and Kristofer M. Butts, Shannon Howe; 10 great grandchildren; several cousins; special brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Debra Lynn Fanton of Reading Center; daughters-in-law, Kathy Cavarello, and Shari (Alex) Ram. In addition to Neil’s parents he is predeceased by his grandson, Nicholas A. Butts. Neil started his career in machine work at the Remington Rand Co. and retired from Belden Inc. as a machine repairmen after many years. He was a dedicated member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, where served as a deacon for over 38 years. He loved to teach his senior adult Sunday school classes and the priceless friends he made through serving the Lord.He loved to sing in the church Choir, and playing bass guitar in the church orchestra. Neil was a man of the word and prayer. Family and friends are invited to call at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 209 Gardener Rd, Horseheads, NY Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Neil H. Butts' life will follow the calling hours at 7:00PM. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, November 5th at the Lakemont Cemetery, Lakemont, NY. His friend and pastor Richard Hack will officiate. Those wishing may make memorial donations in Neil's honor to the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 209 Gardener Rd, Horseheads, NY 14845.
