Rodney F. Vangalder

Age 81, of Elmira, NY. He was born February 4, 1929 in Candor, NY; son of Donald and Ethel(Jackson) VanGalder. He was predeceased by brothers; Donald, Dan and Glenn; sisters; Barbara Brewer and Ruth Enderlee. He is survived by his wife Joan and their children, Bradley of Elmira, Richelle (Bruce) Shafer of Derby, NY; Michael (Maureen Belgraph), Mark VanGalder (Kim Dunn), Sandra (Dave) Love , Rebecca (George) Shutter,Roxanne Koski; bother; Richard of TX, and sister; Marjorie of FL; 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; special lifelong friends Jack Stansfield and Lou Cook. Rodney retired from American LaFrance after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the organizer of the American LaFrance Reunions. Many friends shared his hospitality at Oakdale Avenue, Mormon Lake and Ocala, Florida. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 813 Maple Ave. Elmira, NY. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family in Fitzsimmons Cemetery Southport, NY. The family will provide their own flowers.
