Virginia A. Marks

Virginia A. Marks,Age 75, of Elmira, NY died Saturday December 1, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends, After a lifetime of teaching us through her strength and caring she is resting peacefully. She is predeceased by her loving son Donald Marks. Virginia is survived by sons, Michael(Jacqueline) Marks, David (Katherine) Marks, and Richard (Mary) Marks; sister, Sylvia Bryce-Flynn and sister , Dorothy Bednarek, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several loving nieces & nephews. After raising her family she went back to school. She is an Alumnus of Elmira College, earning her Masters Degree in Education at the age of 47. Virginia was a reading teacher for Literacy Volunteers. A long time member ofIDMR. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Thursday December 6, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there at 6:00 PM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial to the charity of one’s choice.
